This year’s Annual VIP Bus Tour for Modernism Week was nothing short of spectacular, and we are thrilled to share the highlights of this unforgettable day. Partnering with Dunn-Edwards, we embarked on a journey through some of the most iconic architectural gems in Palm Springs that define Modernism.
Our first stop was the enchanting West House, once the cherished residence of Adam West, best known for his role as Batman during the 60s. Built in 1954, this property has been reimagined by Michelle Boudreau Design, using colors from Corian® Solid Surface, Corian® Quartz, and Lapitec®. The residence has undergone a complete metamorphosis, with extensive exterior landscaping and interior redesign, offering plenty of inspiration, textures, and unexpected design brilliance.

Next, we ventured to Frank Sinatra’s Twin Palms Estate. This stunning property gave our guests a glimpse into the glamorous lifestyle of the Rat Pack era, with its stunning design and rich history. The unique architectural features and lush surroundings set the perfect tone for our day of exploration.
We then took a break for our Lunch and Learn session, where attendees enjoyed a light meal while delving into the restoration of the historic Plaza Theatre. Our speakers, J. R. Roberts and Jim Cook, shared captivating stories about the theatre’s history, its significance in shaping Palm Springs, and the intricate work involved in preserving its architectural integrity.
The tour continued with a visit to Sackley Chase Sensation. This stunning 70s residence was designed by the prolific Palm Springs architect Stan Sackley and was originally decorated by the iconic interior designer Steve Chase. This remarkable home was recently updated by the Grace Home Furnishings design team using Corian® Quartz and Lapitec®. Guests had the chance to explore its innovative design and learn about the latest trends in home aesthetics.

As the sun began to set, we gathered for an evening cocktail party at the home of Willis’ CEO, Mike Hetherman and his wife, Cathy. Attendees enjoyed lively tunes from The Dreamboats while mingling and exploring seamless applications of Corian® Solid Surface showers, countertops, unique bathroom vanities, a Lapitec® clad fireplace, and much more. The atmosphere was electric, with guests sharing stories, networking, and celebrating the day’s experiences in true modernist spirit.
The tour brought together architecture and design enthusiasts to celebrate the beauty and significance of modernism. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Dunn-Edwards for their partnership, and to all our guests for making this event truly memorable.
