Highlighting the Best of Modernism Week 2023

We’ll be making all of the stops during your VIP experience! Some of the biggest stand-out homes designed by incredible architects and designers you won’t want to miss. Coupled with drinks, snacks and entertainment, this year’s tour will be one to remember!

Modernism Week Showcase Home: Seventies Sackley

Seventies Sackley is a stunning 1975 residence by noted architect Stan Sackley, lovingly restored and reimagined by Michael Ostrow and Roger Stoker of Grace Home Furnishings. Stan Sackley is best known for a series of homes he created in “the Canyons” neighborhood of Palm Springs. Sackley’s signature style of streamlined sightlines, high ceilings, clerestory windows, and walls of glass have created a buzz among modernists in Palm Springs. The Seventies Sackley showcases the architect’s signature flourishes, as well as floor-to-ceiling glass walls that line the back of the house and open out to the pool and uninterrupted views of the San Jacinto mountains. Ostrow and Stoker thoughtfully blended vintage design treasures with standout pieces from their own brand, Grace Home Furnishings, for an eclectic yet sophisticated take on classic Palm Springs style.

Modernism Week Featured Home: Yoasis

The aptly named “Yoasis” (the home’s location – Yosemite Drive + Oasis) is Grace Home Furnishings’ latest desert project. Envisioning a vacation home that would be hip and unique, the owners turned this vision over to Michael Ostrow of Grace Home Furnishings to make it a reality. Boasting five bedrooms and six bathrooms, this 1965 home features 4,774 square feet of updated midcentury design that will be completely transformed with an unusual blend of both Bohemian and Hollywood Regency style.  Vibrant fabrics and wallpaper adorns the interiors, balanced out by vintage touches that will contribute to a seamless blend of old and new.

Modernism Week Featured Home:
Hi-Sun

Enjoy the drama of a panoramic stone and mountain backdrop while touring Modernism Week’s latest Featured Home, Hi-Sun. Designed by Charles Du Bois and built by the Alexander Construction Company in 1963 as the model home for the Las Palmas neighborhood’s Summit Estates development, this home is the personal residence of Kevin Kemper and Howard Hawkes of H3K Home+Design. The home’s Hawaiian flair and other original midcentury modern features (such as the living rooms stone fireplace), were retained as the house was remodelled to reflect the designers’ signature style. All new surfaces and exciting refreshes of both interior and exterior areas will be on view throughout the four bedroom, three bath home and resort-like poolside area, complete with outdoor kitchen.
